Inspired by Roman arena designs, the Sunny Brae rink was build in 1921-1922 in Moncton on Donald Avenue. At the time, it was the largest indoor rink in Atlantic Canada. On February 26, 1928, a fire destroyed the roof of the building. It was soon abandoned and left for ruins.
Disclaimer: I obtained permission from the property owners to shoot aerial footage of the rink, and had coordinated the drone operation with NAV Canada.
For more information on the history of the rink, I suggest watching this informative video by one of the employees of the Moncton Museum at Resurgo Place.
